This section is about things to do in Puglia and Salento, that part of region between the Ionian sea and the Adriatic sea, to make your holiday special!

The cookery schools and the photo tours are focused on Salento, a land famous for its typical dance pizzica and rich in Baroque towns, olive groves, orchards, dry stone buildings (pagghiare), dolmen and specchie (ancient stone constructions used as sighting towers or sepulchral monuments), excellent cuisine, sandy and rocky beaches.

From East to West and from North to South, you will visit multiple areas of interest:

  • remains of Greek and Roman temples and pre-historic monuments
  • natural reserves like Porto Selvaggio
  • towers dating back to the 16th century, when the Turks attacked the Apulian coasts, and buildings in Arabic style
  • architecture recalling the white Greek cities or old towns in Baroque style.

An unmissable aspect of your holiday will be Puglia typical food and wine such as Primitivo, Negroamaro, Salice Salentino. Tasting a good wine, extravergin olive oil and local products is certainly a key to get in touch with the territory and the people, to learn their historical and cultural heritage, to understand their traditions.

You will find a list of short and longer tours where you can learn about ancient oil mills and wineries in Puglia.

Among the local food, you will have the chance to taste cheese (pecorino, cacioricotta, ricotta forte), almond sweets, figs, preserves (dried tomatoes, artichokes, eggplants), fruit, grape juice, jam and vegetables.

Please go through the options below and we hope you will find something interesting to experience and live an unforgettable holiday in Puglia!
