Tour introduction

After a relaxing first day in Lecce with its stunning Baroque buildings, you will start working and learning with your tutor in the beautiful setting of Porto Selvaggio.

You will then enjoy a cultural afternoon in Gallipoli and Alezio before a delicious dinner and wine tasting.

Your photo tour will lead you to the magical seaviews of Otranto and Castro and the historical spots of Vaste to get the best of your camera potential.

You'll be able to practise in your afternoon visit to Giurdignano dolmen, before meeting the photographer again in the morning for a walk along the coast to Leuca.

The travel experience in Salento will have its happy ending with a cooking class about typical recipes followed by dinner.

Detailed program

Day 1

• Arrival at the airport - Pick up and Transfer to your b&b in Lecce.
• On arrival we will enjoy a glass of Prosecco and some nibbles at Palazzo Tamborino, one of the most beautiful historic buildings in Lecce. Before dinner the tutors will give a brief introduction to the holiday with an aperitif, of course, and then it’s down to a typical restaurant for your first of many mouth-watering meals.

  After dinner stroll in Lecce, discovering the wonders of Baroque art in town.

• Overnight stay.

Day 2

• Morning: Regional natural reserve of Porto Selvaggio. Meeting with the tutor at 9.30 in Porto Selvaggio. First nature park in Puglia, whith one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy, Portoselvaggio is the place where you meet nature and prehistory, due to its numerous caves and remains.
• 1pm: lunch break on your own.
• Afternoon: Gallipoli and Alezio: Baroque and Messapian art. The tour will go through the alleys, courtyards and the baroque architecture of the old town of Gallipoli, that looks like an island in the sea; the second inland stop will be the ancient hill of Alezio (75 m), a village that preserves memories of the Messapian people and a charming shrine of the 13th century.
• Evening: Dinner in a typical masseria. Local wine tasting with a selection of typical dishes.
• Overnight stay.

Day 3

• Morning: Otranto, Castro and Vaste. Meeting with the tutor at 9.30 in Otranto. The tour will take you to two charming coastal towns and an ancient village in the hinterland: you will see Messapian walls, Aragonese castles and Byzantine frescoes.
• 1pm: lunch break on your own.
• Afternoon: Giurdignano: Dolmen and Menhir. Stones talk. They talk through their lichens and through the forms mankind gave them. Sometimes they speak known "languages", such as the Baroque, but sometimes they use mysterious dialects. This is the case of several stones constructions and dolmen, which are still visible in the territory.
• Evening: Dinner in a typical winery. Local wine tasting with a selection of typical dishes.
• Overnight stay.

Day 4

• Morning: Half day tour in the Leuca area. Meeting with the tutor at 9.30 in Castro. Walk along the coast to Gagliano del Capo, observing a cross section of Earth's history, ancient shorelines, prehistoric caves, wild orchids and distant islands on the horizon.
• 1pm: lunch break on your own.
• Afternoon: Cooking class "Two Salento Menus". You will prepare a fish-based menu and a vegetarian one under the supervision of local chefs.
• Evening: Dinner with the specialities prepared during the cooking class. Local fine wines will be combined with food.
• Overnight stay.

Day 5

• Transfer to the airport and Returning flight.

Booking conditions

The price refers to the total cost per person. At the time of booking only 25% of the amount will be required as deposit.
