Tour introduction

You'll be amazed by the great landscapes variety and different settings within a few kilometers.

From the portual city of Monopoli, with its castle and city walls on the sea, to the spectacular and enchanting Castellana Caves, karst complex that you can visit in a guided tour of 3 km among multicolor stalatthytis and stalagmythis, caves and formations with mythologic names until you reach the "White Cave", the most beautiful cave on the planet.

Conversano will fascinate your spirits with its legends related to the famous and dreadful Earl Giangirolamo, and it will conquer your heart with its castle, siege of a strong and powerful county, its churches, its palaces and alleys; Polignano will offer a breathtaking scenery with its historic centre overlooking the sea, the wonderful Palazzese cave, the balconies and the nice nightlife ambiance.

After stopping at the archaeological site of Egnazia, with its acropolis, its necropolis, the ancient Trajan Way remainings, you will go through the 400 metres high wood, "Selva di Fasano", overlooking a fantastic scenery made by trulli, fields and beaches.

And from Locorotondo, named this way due to its white houses arranged in concentric circles, you will finally reach the heart of the "Land of Trulli", Alberobello. The typical houses called "Trulli", part of the UNESCO heritage, will frame out the end of this great journey with their surrealistic atmosphere.

Detailed program

Day 1

• 3pm: Participants' meeting in the "Arrivals" hall of Bari airport.
• Afternoon: Transfer to Monopoli. Guided tour of the old town (Castle of Charles V, city walls, Cathedral).
• Transfer to the b&b and dinner.
• Overnight.

Day 2

• Morning: breakfast at the b&b and transfer to Conversano. Guided tour of the old town with its medieval castle, Romanesque cathedral, Benedictine Monastery and Megalithic walls. Lunch on your own.
• Afternoon: Transfer to Castellana. At 4pm guided tour of Castellana Caves, the widest karst complex in Italy.
• Evening: Polignano a Mare - Dinner and evening on your own.
• Return to the b&b and overnight.

Day 3

• Morning: breakfast at the b&b and transfer to Egnazia. View of the Selva di Fasano park and guided tour of the archaeological site of Egnazia. Lunch on your own.
• Afternoon: transfer to Alberobello. Guided tour of the old town, famous for its unique trulli constructions. The Trulli of Alberobello are part of the UNESCO World Heritage. After the tour, transfer and visit of Locorotondo, a labyrinth of white alleys, recently inserted in the list of the most beautiful medieval towns in Italy.
• Evening: Dinner and return to the b&b.
• Overnight.

Day 4

• Breakfast at the b&b and transfer to the airport.

Booking conditions

Minimum of 8 participants.

The price refers to the total cost per person, including VAT.

At the time of booking only 25% of the amount will be required as deposit.

The balance payment must be made within 90 days before departure, subject to confirmation of the minimum number of participants in the tour.

If the minimum number is not confirmed, Discovery Puglia will move the booking to the next tour available at no extra charge or provide a refund of the deposit.

Discovery Puglia has no responsibility for any cancellation penalties due to non-refundable airfares or additional services booked by the customers.
