Tour introduction

You will start your tour by visiting the archaelogic site of Egnazia, with its acropolys, its necropolis, the ancient Trajan Way remainings, and then enjoy the evening in the fairy atmosphere of the "White City", Ostuni, strolling along its alleys surrounded by white houses.

Going through Ceglie, that preserves Messapian remainings dating back to the period when the city was the military capital of that population, and San Vito dei Normanni, with its rock settlings, you will reach Brindisi and its archaeologic centre in San Pietro degli Schiavoni, where you will see the Roman columns, the castle and lots more, thanks to its rich history marked by the alternance of people and dynasties.

At the end of your tour, you will pay a visit to Mesagne and its archaeologic site of Muro Tenente, the Messapian necropolis and the hypogeum oil mill, to finish your trip in Taranto, by visiting its National Archaeologic Museum and the glorious remainings of its past walking down the city streets.

Detailed program

Day 1

• 3pm: Participants' meeting in the "Arrivals" hall of Brindisi airport.
• Afternoon: transfer to Egnazia. Guided tour of the archaeological site of Egnazia.
• Evening: Ostuni. Dinner and evening on your own enjoying the atmosphere of the "White City".
• Return to the b&b and overnight.

Day 2

• Morning: breakfast at the b&b and transfer to Ceglie Messapica. Guided tour of Ceglie Messapica old town with its archaeological remains and transfer to San Vito dei Normanni. Guided tour of Messapic settlements and Dentice di Frasso Castle. Lunch on your own.
• Afternoon: transfer to Brindisi. Guided tour of Brindisi old town (San Pietro degli Schiavoni archaeological area, Vasche Limarie, Roman Columns)
• Evening: Return to the b&b and dinner.
• Overnight.

Day 3

• Morning: breakfast at the b&b and transfer to Mesagne. Guided tour of Mesagne (archaeological site of Muro Tenente, Messapic Necropolis, Hypogeum Olive Mill). Lunch on your own.
• Afternoon: transfer to Taranto. Guided tour of Taranto (Doric Temple, National Archaeologic Museum, Hypogeum "De Beaumont Bonelli Bellacicco").
• Evening: Dinner at the b&b and overnight.
• Overnight.

Day 4

• Breakfast at the b&b and transfer to the airport.

Booking conditions

Minimum of 8 participants.

The price refers to the total cost per person, including VAT.

At the time of booking only 25% of the amount will be required as deposit.

The balance payment must be made within 90 days before departure, subject to confirmation of the minimum number of participants in the tour.

If the minimum number is not confirmed, Discovery Puglia will move the booking to the next tour available at no extra charge or provide a refund of the deposit.
