Masseria Casacapanna, near the border with Molise, dominates an estate of 100 hectares, which have always been used for crops, including vines, olive trees, almond trees, cereals, legumes and pasture.
The farmhouse dates back to the 1800s, when it was a local noble family´s residence, and it´s now developed into accommodation, educational farm and restaurant.
The farm is equipped with a dairy farm producing typical Gargano cheese (caciocavalli, cottage cheese and ricotta cheese); a pasta factory producing typical pasta with local wheat; a cold meats factory producing pork sausages and salami; a multifunctional laboratory producing, among other things, pickled vegetables, jams, fruit juices and tomato sauce; a cooking laboratory producing bread, taralli, biscuits, cookies and many other specialties.
Guests can experience the various stages of production and then taste final products in the tasting room and in the restaurant, which offers a panoramic view over the sea and the Tremiti Islands.
Masseria Casacapanna is ecofriendly and respects the environment not only by serving 0 km food and wines from the estate vineyard, but also by producing electricity through a wind turbine and using a wastewater treatment system (RBBR, Finnish patent).
Guests can buy farm produce from the on-site shop and visit the Ethnographic Museum of tools and documents about the historical evolution of rural work and life.
A wifi connection is available in the bar area.
Finally, you can explore the surrounding area by walking, cycling or horse riding.
Masseria Casacapanna has 16 spacious rooms, each one with private entrance.
All rooms are ensuite with TV, air conditioning and rustic and wrought iron furniture.
Seven rooms can accommodate up to 4 people and have two levels with a double room on a mezzanine overlooking the sea and the living area on the ground floor, featuring TV, sofa bed and bathroom.
