Agriturismo Montenapoleone is a fortified masseria dating back to the 1600’s, and has been beautifully renovated with elegant and original rooms and suite - surrounded by nature, and with views of the sea.
This charming building allows to really sample life in southern Italy. Even a short visit will give a wonderful feel for Masseria Montenapoleone, while you breath along side the plants, marvel at the masseria’s detail and completely free your mind.

The rooms are most original in the Masseria. There are fifteen rooms and one suite, all very different from one another, all furnished with hand-made furniture, and only with the most essential items.
There are lampshades made from 60’s mincing utensils, and shoe racks made from old shutters.
In every room you will find a dressing table, where in the old days the ladies would preen their faces and hair.
The furnishings have been carefully arranged so that each room is comfortable, each with a bathroom, a sofa and wardrobe - making the rooms functional yet elegant.

This suite is one of the most unique in the world! It was skilfully made from a 50 square metre cave - a love nest in the heart of the Masseria, christened the Angels’ Grotto. You will be embraced by the earth’s rock face – where once early settlers would have sought shelter - now kitted out with every modern-day comfort.

(66 m²) at the first floor, this suite offers 2 separate double rooms and 2 bathrooms with shower, patio outside and sea view

These elegant and spacious suites used to be old storerooms, granary and shepherd quarters, each different from one another, accommodating our guests’ different requirements. Some of these suites are around 40m2, which can accommodate up to 5 people. Others have private gardens, balconies or verandas with wonderful sea views, with great views of the sunsets and stars at night.

The junior suites are part of what used to be the old stables - now comfortable and welcoming dwellings, each with lounge, and independent entrance onto the gardens, with splendid views of the surrounding countryside. They are 35 square metres in size, large enough to accommodate up to four people.

These eight spacious, cosy rooms used to be the Masseria labourers’ quarters - a single comfortable space furnished in a rustic-chic style. And each surprisingly different, in one you will find a fig tree growing, in another an old sewing machine which has been made into an elegant dressing table. They all have their own independent entrance with access through a colourful garden.

Other information

The winter garden

An old tool shed has been transformed into an elegant garden, surrounded by glass walls with flourishing bougainvillea and cacti. This corner has a slight ‘Provence’ feel to it - great for parties!

Communal kitchens

For those who love to cook even when on holiday, Masseria Montenapoleone has a kitchen at its guests’ disposal where you may make lunch or dinner using all the ingredients you have carefully selected.

The barbecue

A little further along there is a well-equipped area for roasting the vegetables you handpicked from the Masseria’s vegetable garden - along with local meats or freshly caught fish so readily available.

The breakfast room

The breakfast rooms used to be the horse stalls, a little rustic oasis, which, at first glance, will give you that very image: lamp-shades made from old saddles, small tables made from old weighing-scales, sideboards built into the old eating troughs. Here you will be tasting the Masseria’s home produce - from home-made jams, to flans made with dried figs, to a quite exclusive cinnamon citrus fruit ‘carpaccio’ (thinly sliced) - as well as fresh seasonal fruit, cheeses, dairy products and a selection of finest cut meats.

The colonnade

Once you have checked in, the first area you come to is the internal patio. In the old days, all the Masseria’s economic activities around the granary and oil mill took place in this area.  This is where our guests now have their tea or sip a cold drink in the shade of an ancient solandra.

The gardens

Our guests can explore the gardens by following the little Masseria tracks where you will find a wide variety of plants and flowers. This is real ‘rural’ tourism, so in touch with nature. You may stop and pick figs from the garden or citrus fruits from the lemon and orange grove. You may make yourself a freshly squeezed juice with the fruits you have picked. It is impossible not to relax in this special place - either relaxing in the shade of an ancient olive tree, or reading a book in the almond grove.

The pool

During the hot summer days you will get great relief from bathing in the large pool with its sea views - surrounded by trees, and where the birds occasionally stop to drink. The ‘beach’ pool makes access easy - perfect for children. You may sunbathe on one of the handmade sun loungers whilst sipping a cocktail or smoothie made with our own freshly picked fruit.

La falegnameria restaurant

Adjacent to the pool, the old carpenter’s workshop has been converted into a bar and restaurant – and, as you might expect, the bar where you order your coffee is made out or an old renovated craftsman’s worktop. Huge amounts of imagination have been used during the renovation this place – the large tables inside the carpenter’s workshop are lit by lamps made out of old paint tins.
