This winery is located in the land of the Primitivo di Gioia del Colle and its name, meaning black soil, derives from the dark grounds, where vineyards grow all around.
The company has wisely combined the ancient and the modern: next to the farmhouse dating back to the 19th century, now used for tastings in its stone vaults rooms, the wine is produced with modern facilities of pressing and vinification.
However, the cellar, where the wines are kept, is the real surprise of the winery: it is carved in the rock and it´s about 26 feet deep. The temperature and humidity are constant throughout the year.
Filippo will explain you with passion and expertise the process of production and bottling of wines as well as the qualities acquired through maturation and processing techniques.
The visit ends with a wine tasting in the farmhouse next door.
